Registration Open for KSDEF Turkey Trot

KEARNEY, Mo. — The 15th annual KSD Education Foundation Turkey Trot will begin at 8:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, at Kearney High School Stadium.

The event invites families, students, alumni and other community members to take part in either a 4-mile or 1-mile walk/run. A free Tot Trot will be offered for the youngest Bulldogs.

Participants who cannot attend in person may complete the event virtually from Nov. 24-29, allowing them to join from wherever their Thanksgiving plans take them.

Proceeds from registration fees, donations and sponsorships will support KSD Education Foundation classroom grants and scholarships, as well as the Kearney High School Cross Country team. The foundation funds learning opportunities and resources beyond those covered by the school district's regular budget.

Early-bird registration costs $30 through Oct. 11 and includes a 2026 Turkey Trot race shirt. The regular registration fee is $35 through Nov. 8. Registration will remain available after that date, but late registrants will not receive a race shirt.

Organizers said the annual event offers residents a chance to race, walk with family and friends, or take part in a community tradition while supporting Kearney students. Registration and complete race information are available through the KSD Education Foundation website.
