Kearney’s Magical Night a Huge Success

Kearney’s 3rd annual Magical Night and Lighted Parade was a huge success for the Kearney Enrichment Council once again. Hundreds filled downtown Kearney streets and businesses for the event on Saturday, December 10.

The Lighted Christmas Parade consisted of over 40 entries and drove up Washington Street while onlookers clapped and cheered on the festive vehicles. After the parade local businesses in the downtown area were open for family crafts and treats.

At City Hall, Mayor Randy Pogue officially lit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree and Santa Claus stopped by to talked to the kids.

“So much fun at our annual Kearney’s Magical Night event,” Exclaimed a Kearney Firehouse Community Center social media post. “We are so thankful for all the amazing businesses, families, and individuals that put effort in to make this night happen for our community!”

The float entries were judged and participants won awards in the following categories:

  • Best Group: Kansas City Northland Jeepers

  • Bulldog or Christmas Spirit: Radiant Life Church

  • Best Business: Hampton Plumbing – “Lowboy”

  • Best Youth Interaction: Beatniks Dance and Tumble

  • Most Unique: Kearney Parks and Recreation: “Picklemania”

  • Best Float: Frick Family – “Christmas Lane”

  • Light ‘em Up: Shaun Presley – “Christmas Camaro”
